Kias has pursued the paths of the tribe, one by one, failing at each. In failure he had grown, learning in the shadow of many masters even as his friends found their place and his self-proclaimed sister took the protection of the tribe on her shoulders, alone.

This latest path leads to failure again, bloodied beneath the hooves of a twisted beast. His flight is desperate. The land paying no heed to distance traveled or turns carefully marked. As if a trail should lead back to where it began when the sun turns low and the moons rise.

The Elders always spoke of failure as a worthy feat. So few return from a misplaced step in the Wilds. To survive even once is a gift of wisdom that might see the tribe grow. A lesson to be shared.

In this, Kias will find the Elders more true than any might imagine. Through this final failure, the last days of his world are marked. The broken dreams of one god end while the blood-drenched love of another awakens.

A little beast speaks and the shadows grow deeper. Kias will reach for them both in an effort to save his tribe.

The Waking Eye is a Progression Fantasy following the journey of Kias, a tribal apprentice of many Elders in a lone village fighting to survive. Their land is soaked in Source, the power of creation itself, and weaving its energies is their greatest weapon against the hungry Wilds. It is also the greatest threat, mutating beasts, hiding familiar trails, and drowning the weak.

Hidden away, his village has survived against all odds. All things end.
